Donald Trump Threatened to 'Blow Up Oman' Over Oil Deal with Iran
The U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the country might strike Oman due to the attempts to gain control over the Strait of Hormuz together with Iran. The American leader demands that the ally abandon plans to charge fees for the passage of vessels, writes The Guardian.
The White House chief was outraged by information about secret negotiations between Oman and Tehran regarding Hormuz, and Trump demands full freedom of navigation.
"The strait will be open to everyone. No one intends to control it. We are going to monitor it. We will monitor it. But no one intends to control it. This is part of the negotiations we are conducting," Trump said.
The U.S. president directly mentioned the possibility of a large-scale attack on Oman.
"Oman will behave like everyone else. Otherwise, we will have to blow them up. They understand this. Everything will be fine with them," added the American president.
