NATO stated there is no "drama" in relations with the USA
NATO will meet the demands of US President Donald Trump to increase defense spending. This was stated by NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, adding that relations with the Pentagon remain stable and free of any "drama," writes Bloomberg.
"We have a NATO defense planning process that gives us the necessary capabilities, and we will achieve them over time," said Cavo Dragone in an interview, commenting on the Alliance's plans to reach an overall defense spending level of 5% of GDP. "So I think we are in good shape."
His statement came shortly after US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth sharply criticized Europe and NATO during the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore.
"From a military point of view, there is no drama between us and the USA," noted Cavo Dragone, who is an officer of the Italian Navy.
