The US President Donald Trump announced the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon.

According to him, Israeli troops that had moved into Lebanon are "already returning back." He said this on June 1 on the social network Truth Social after a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump emphasized that the conversation was "very fruitful." It ended with an agreement that troops would not be sent to Beirut, and those already deployed are returning.

"Moreover, through high-ranking representatives, I had a very fruitful conversation with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all hostilities will cease - that Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel," added the White House chief.
