A former McDonald's employee accused of putting fries in her mouth before serving them to a customer will face trial, reports Boston25news.

22-year-old Kayla Santos from Southbridge has been charged with distributing food containing a harmful substance. The charge is related to an incident that occurred on April 9, 2026, at the McDonald's restaurant on East Main Street.

According to the investigation, a video recorded via Snapchat shows Santos taking handfuls of fries, putting them in her mouth, and then returning them to the cardboard container.

The police established that the customer was a Southbridge resident who later told investigators that she had already eaten the fries before seeing the video online.

Santos, who was the manager of the McDonald's in Southbridge at the time, knew the customer through previous personal relations. Court documents state that they had been in a relationship for about two years, and Santos was allegedly upset about their breakup in October 2024.

The court materials also contain new details about the high-profile video involving the former McDonald's manager from Massachusetts.

The restaurant has already responded to the incident. The employees involved no longer work there.

The police also reported having surveillance footage that captured the incident.
