Poland is preparing to determine the amount of the minimum wage and minimum hourly rate for 2027. The relevant proposals have already been submitted by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, reports the inPoland publication.

The government has until mid-June to present a draft decision on the minimum wage and hourly rate for 2027 to social partners.

Currently, the ministry proposes to set the minimum wage at 4986 zlotys gross and the minimum hourly rate at 32.60 zlotys gross.

For comparison, the current minimum wage in Poland is 4806 zlotys gross, and the minimum hourly rate is 31.40 zlotys gross. If the ministry's proposal is approved, the wage will increase by 180 zlotys, and the hourly rate by 1.20 zlotys.

The ministry noted that the proposed level of 4986 zlotys gross should be approximately half of the projected average wage in 2027, which is estimated at about 9970 zlotys gross.

This is still a government proposal. The final decision must be submitted by the Council of Ministers, after which it will be discussed in the Social Dialogue Council. If trade unions and employers do not reach an agreement, the government will make the decision independently – the deadline is set for September 15.

Currently, the positions of the parties differ significantly. According to Money.pl, trade unions propose raising the minimum wage to 5200 zlotys gross. Employers, on the other hand, consider lower levels possible – 4860.47 or 4974.92 zlotys gross.

According to calculations by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, about 15% of workers in Poland, or about 3 million people, receive the minimum wage.
