“Giant Potato” over Colorado – New UFO Documents Released in the USA
The USA has released a new batch of documents about unidentified aerial phenomena, including a report about an unusual object spotted over the Cheyenne Mountains in Colorado. This was reported by The New York Times.
The incident occurred in February 2022. According to the materials, the object was observed by a US Army military intelligence officer and four servicemen from the Fort Carson base. The observation took place in clear weather over the Cheyenne mountain range.
The documents state that the size of the object was approximately that of a large jet aircraft. Witnesses described it as an asymmetrical shape resembling a “giant potato” made up of uneven panels.
According to eyewitnesses, the object hovered motionless at an altitude of about 90–150 meters above the mountains, gradually changing its shape.
The report also notes that it had a semi-transparent white appearance with flickering and a milky sheen that reflected sunlight. After some time, the object suddenly disappeared.
Several years later, one of the witnesses was interviewed by FBI agents in New York. During the interview, a special artist created a sketch of the observed object, which also resembled a potato-like shape over the mountain ridge.
The FBI materials indicate that the object might have consisted of structures similar to movable fish scales or panels. They were asymmetrical, irregularly shaped, and did not overlap. The object itself remained stationary, but its surface seemed to move in waves.
A separate version considers an optical illusion. The report notes that at the time of observation, the mountain slopes were covered with 15–30 centimeters of snow, and the angle of sunlight could have created a reflection and scattering effect that formed an unusual visual phenomenon. At the same time, the authors of the document emphasized that confidence in this version is low.
After that, the object disappeared, and the case became part of a new wave of declassified UFO data that the US government began publishing under the administration of President Donald Trump.
