Before purchasing a mobile phone, specialists from the State Consumer Service advise paying attention to the presence of the national conformity mark to technical regulations, which confirms the product's compliance with safety requirements. This mark should be clear, indelible, and placed on the device or on a technical data plate, and if this is not possible — on the packaging or in the accompanying documents. This was reported by the State Consumer Service.

Also, during the purchase, the buyer must receive a payment document (receipt), a technical passport or other operational document, and a warranty card. These papers confirm the fact of purchase and provide the opportunity to protect one's rights in case of problems.

The State Consumer Service reminds that according to Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Rights Protection," if defects are found during the warranty period, the buyer has the right to demand a proportional price reduction, free elimination of defects within a reasonable time, or reimbursement of expenses for their elimination.

If a significant defect is found during the warranty period caused by the manufacturer or seller, or if there is a case of product falsification (if necessary, confirmed by an expert examination), the consumer may choose to demand a refund or replacement of the phone with a similar or equivalent one. To do this, it is necessary to contact the seller with a written claim.

Free repair must be carried out within 14 days or another period agreed upon by the parties. Upon the consumer's written request, a smartphone of a similar model is provided with delivery for the duration of the repair.

A defect is considered significant if it cannot be fixed, the repair lasts more than 14 days, the problem recurs after repair, or the device no longer meets its characteristics and purpose. In such cases, the consumer has the right to demand a refund or replacement of the product.

It is separately noted that according to Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Rights Protection," the buyer has the right to exchange a non-food product of proper quality for a similar one within 14 days if it does not fit in shape, dimensions, style, color, size, or for other reasons.

Exchange is possible provided that the product has not been used, its marketable appearance, consumer properties, seals, labels, and payment document or electronic receipt that allows identifying the purchase are preserved.
