Delivery Food Can Be Dangerous: What to Check Before the First Bite
Online ordering of food products and ready meals has become a regular part of everyday life. However, even high-quality products can pose a health risk if proper transportation and storage conditions were not met during delivery.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reminded consumers of the main rules for safely receiving orders.
Experts recommend ordering products and ready meals only from official establishments and through verified services. Upon receipt, it is necessary to check the integrity of the packaging and the conformity of the order received.
It is also worth paying attention to the appearance, smell, and temperature of ready meals. Products should not be consumed if there are signs of spoilage or doubts about their transportation conditions.
Consumers are advised to keep the fiscal receipt or another document confirming the purchase. Perishable products should be immediately placed in the refrigerator after delivery if not planned for immediate consumption.
The State Service also emphasised that if symptoms of food poisoning appear after consuming the products, it is necessary to seek medical attention immediately.
The safety of food products depends not only on the manufacturer or food establishment but also on the attentiveness of the consumer. Following simple rules helps avoid food poisoning and maintain health.
