From September 1, free warm lunches should be provided to students in grades 1-11 across the country, – Svyrydenko
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko reported that a meeting was held with the heads of the Regional Military Administrations (RMA) to synchronize work on implementing the Government's priorities in the regions.
According to her, the focus was on key topics: defense, energy, and preparation for the next heating season.
They separately discussed the readiness of the regions for the next stage of the school nutrition reform.
“From September 1, warm lunches should be provided to students in grades 1–11 throughout Ukraine. Today, free meals are already ensured for all children in frontline communities and students in grades 1–4 in all regions,” she said.
According to the head of government, 1 billion UAH has already been allocated for the modernization of 73 school canteens across Ukraine.
“School nutrition is not only about social support but also about developing the local economy, jobs, and supporting Ukrainian producers,” she added.
