Offered a bribe to a military serviceman of the TCC and police officers: a man stood trial in Poltava region
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Poltava found a native of Vyshniaky village of the Khorol community guilty of offering a bribe to a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment Center and police officers.
According to the Poltava Regional TRC, the incident occurred on the morning of January 28 near the Vorskla stadium in Poltava. Police officers and servicemen of the TRC and the Special Police stopped a citizen born in 1988. During the document check, it was established that he was wanted because he had not appeared following a summons earlier.
In connection with this, the citizen was invited to the service vehicle for delivery to the TRC and Special Police to draw up a protocol on an administrative offense. While traveling in the car, the man offered those present 5 thousand dollars to be released.
The investigative-operational group of the National Police arrived at the scene and conducted investigative and operational actions.
Later, the military registration data of the citizen were clarified, and it was established that he was fit for military service according to the health conclusion of the Military Medical Commission.
Since the man had no grounds for deferral, he was drafted during mobilization and sent to a training center for military service.
At the court hearing held on May 27, the accused fully admitted guilt and confirmed the circumstances of the incident. Among the physical evidence attached to the case are videos from body cameras.
The court took into account sincere repentance, assistance in revealing the offense, absence of previous convictions, as well as the fact that the man is already a serviceman. Therefore, he was sentenced to a fine of 17,000 UAH.
