Volodymyr Zelensky: We expect to open the first cluster already in June
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had a conversation with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
According to him, during the conversation they discussed strengthening Ukrainian air defense, primarily anti-ballistic defense.
“Europe has the appropriate capabilities, and we talked about this, in particular, within our work with the EU on the Drone Deal track. Thank you, Ursula, for supporting this format. It is important that our teams are actively working, and there are already countries ready to join,” he said.
The parties also separately discussed Ukraine’s path to the EU membership.
“We are fully ready to open all six negotiation clusters and expect that the first cluster – Fundamentals – will be able to open already in June. It is equally important that the first tranche from the European support package arrives as soon as possible. There is a date – we hope that everything will be implemented exactly as we agreed,” Zelenskyy added.
