The government has started the reform of the State Labor Service – the service will gain new powers and lose some functions
The government has begun the process of updating the State Labor Service. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
As part of the changes, it is planned to reduce redundant functions that duplicated the work of other bodies or have lost relevance.
Instead, the State Labor Service will focus more on issues of worker safety at workplaces, compliance with labor rights, and ensuring fair rules in the labor market.
Specifically, social aspects will be strengthened. The service will receive expanded powers to support the employment of people with disabilities, as well as employers who create accessible workplaces.
The government’s position is that the State Labor Service should become a more transparent and digitalized structure trusted by both employees and employers. The main task of the service is defined as protecting workers' rights and monitoring compliance with safe working conditions.
