In Vinnytsia region, an 82-year-old man raped a 10-year-old girl: the crime was uncovered by a psychologist
In Vinnytsia Region, an 82-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of raping a 10-year-old girl, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a distant relative of the victim's family. They lived nearby and communicated periodically. A few weeks ago, taking advantage of the absence of the parents, the retiree came to the girl's house. He led the 10-year-old child to an outbuilding where he committed sexual violence against her.
As noted by the prosecutor's office, the girl perceived the man's actions as a game and did not try to run away, but she managed to record what was happening on her mobile phone camera.
The school psychologist learned about the video recording and immediately contacted law enforcement authorities.
The police promptly detained the retiree and seized physical evidence at the scene. Currently, by court decision, the elderly man has been placed in custody.
Specialists are working with the child, providing necessary psychological and social support.
