Metro to Troieshchyna and Vynohradar: Klitschko announced plans for the development of Kyiv metro
The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitalii Klychko, stated that the construction of the metro to Troieshchyna is impossible without the Podilsko-Voskresenskyi bridge crossing, the operation of which was opened after more than 20 years of construction.
According to him, three metro stations have already been built into the bridge's structure.
Klychko noted that in the conditions of war, it is currently not the time to talk about building the metro line to Troieshchyna. At the same time, after the war ends, this project will need to be implemented as quickly as possible.
"And in order to build the metro line at all, I think that in the realities of war it is not the time to talk about it now. But after the war, we will need to implement this project as quickly as possible regarding construction," Klychko said in an interview with Kyiv24.
The mayor reported that one of the key stages for the future metro line was the creation of the crossing over the Dnipro River. In addition, the Podilsko-Voskresenskyi bridge, according to him, will serve the function of connecting the right and left banks of the capital for the metro.
Klychko also noted that preliminary project developments already exist, but the implementation of the project will require significant funds. At the same time, there are currently no specific construction timelines.
Separately, the mayor commented on the construction of the metro to Vynohradar. According to him, work at the site is progressing actively. However, the launch of the new metro section is not expected by the end of 2026, although some stations will already be almost built by that time.
