President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that lifting sanctions against Russia effectively strengthens its defense industry
Lifting sanctions against Russia effectively means aiding the Russian military by supporting its defense industry. This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, after the partial easing of certain sanctions, there were no noticeable changes in the global markets for oil, gas, or diesel fuel. He noted that the share of Russian oil in the global supply is only about 5%, so this could not significantly affect the situation.
Zelenskyy emphasized that lifting sanctions is not related to economic benefits, but rather an attempt to build dialogue with Russia. At the same time, he considers this approach mistaken.
The President stated that Russia, in his opinion, does not respond to words or expressions of empathy and may perceive the easing of sanctions as a sign of weakness.
"We must be strong and impose more sanctions against them," the President concluded.
