In Khmelnytskyi, a driver who ignored the ban on driving for the second time will be tried: he faces up to 8 years in prison
In Khmelnytskyi, an indictment has been sent to court against a man suspected of repeatedly violating a court ban on driving vehicles. This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Under the procedural guidance of the Khmelnytskyi City District Prosecutor's Office, the indictment against the local resident was sent to court for the repeated intentional non-compliance with a court decision (Part 3, Article 382 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that according to a court ruling that came into legal force in August 2024, the man was deprived of the right to drive vehicles for three years.
Despite this ban, in December 2025 the accused again got behind the wheel of a car in Khmelnytskyi. During the drive, he was stopped by patrol police officers.
It is also noted that the man had previously been held criminally liable for a similar offense.
He faces a punishment of up to eight years imprisonment with an additional deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
At the same time, it is reminded that according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
