In Poland, the remains of 32 unborn children were found on a private plot. The investigation concerns a 57-year-old pathologist doctor.

In the village of Lutoryż near the city of Rzeszów, investigators continue to examine the land plot where the bodies of unborn children were found buried in the ground.

As reported by the publication wyborcza, on the morning of June 13, the doctor complained of feeling unwell while in custody. According to procedures, she was taken to the hospital for examination. According to the prosecutor's representative Krzysztof Ciechanowski, law enforcement had already received information about the detainee's physical health problems the day before.

Investigators considered the possibility of conducting an interrogation directly in the medical facility. However, later the woman was still brought to the prosecutor's office building for procedural actions.

What suspicions are being prepared against the doctor

According to the prosecutor's office, Magdalena G. is to be charged under two articles:

  • desecration of the remains of the deceased;
  • leaving medical materials in a place not intended for their storage or disposal.

Under Polish law, the first crime carries up to two years imprisonment, the second — up to 12 years in prison.

At the same time, the investigation does not exclude that other persons may have been involved in this activity. The prosecutor's office emphasizes that the investigation is at an early stage, so all circumstances are still being established.

The plot contained the bodies of 32 unborn children and medical materials

It is officially confirmed that the bodies of 32 unborn children were found, buried at varying depths. Investigators also found fragments of destroyed documentation and other medical materials.

All discovered remains were transported to the morgue, where forensic experts will examine them. Only after the examinations can it be determined how long they had been in the ground.

In addition, law enforcement is checking neighboring plots using ground-penetrating radar and specially trained dogs to exclude the presence of other burials or medical waste. So far, no signs of this have been found.

Investigators still need to examine the entire area of about five hundred square meters. The work may continue until the beginning of next week.

The doctor claims to have conducted research

According to Polish media, Magdalena G. explained that during the COVID-19 pandemic she took dead fetuses from the hospital to conduct medical research.

According to her version, the research was allegedly conducted at home. After finishing the work, she placed the bodies in bags and buried them on her land plot. At that time, there was a non-residential building on the territory.

It is reported that during the period in question, the doctor worked at Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Rzeszów, although she lived in Zamość.

How the burial was discovered

According to Polish media, the bodies were accidentally found by an excavator operator while preparing the area for new residential development.

The new owners of the plot began construction work, which included plans to build several private houses. After the grim discovery, the work was immediately stopped and law enforcement was notified.

Currently, the Polish prosecutor's office continues investigative actions and awaits the results of examinations that should help establish all the circumstances of the case.
