Five children from Kyiv were treated by medics after eating at a hotel where kitchen operations were banned
The Main Department of the State Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported the results of an inspection of a hotel and recreation complex in the village of Polianytsia, where an organized group of children stayed during the summer season of 2026.
According to the agency, during an unscheduled state control event in the field of food safety as part of an epidemiological investigation of an outbreak of acute intestinal infection at the "NACIKU" hotel in the village of Polianytsia, specialists from the Main Department of the State Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region conducted an unscheduled inspection. It revealed violations of food safety legislation requirements.
Based on the inspection results, the chief state inspector issued an order temporarily banning the circulation of food products in the hotel restaurant for 10 working days.
However, as stated by the State Consumer Service, during the period of this ban, the market operator continued to provide catering services and accepted an organized group of children from the city of Kyiv at the hotel. Five children from this group experienced worsening health and sought medical assistance.
After this, the Main Department of the State Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region conducted another unscheduled state control event. A corresponding protocol was drawn up for non-compliance with the order. The fine will amount to about 350 thousand hryvnias. The establishment was also reissued a prescription to eliminate violations of food safety legislation.
Currently, the market operator has independently ceased the circulation of food products at the establishment until the epidemiological investigation is completed.
