In Kyiv, a medical facility was ordered by court to bring a shelter for 100 people into proper condition
In the capital, a civil protection shelter, which had been in a state of disrepair for years and could not be used during air raid alerts, was brought into proper condition. This was achieved through the court intervention of the prosecutor's office.
As reported by the Dnipro District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, the shelter's custodian — the Communal Non-Profit Enterprise "Kyiv City Center of Nephrology and Dialysis" (now the Communal Non-Profit Enterprise "Medical Center of the City of Kyiv") — was obliged to eliminate numerous violations and ensure the shelter's readiness for use.
The protective structure, located on Chornykh Zaporozhtsiv Street, was designed for 100 people but was actually unable to perform its functions. During inspections, it was found that the premises, with an area of over 530 square meters, were in unsatisfactory technical and sanitary condition. Some airtight doors were dismantled, others did not close, the ventilation system did not meet shelter requirements, proper water supply and air exchange conditions were absent, and the restrooms were not operational.
Due to the identified violations, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit demanding that the medical institution bring the shelter to a condition suitable for operation.
The Kyiv District Administrative Court satisfied the claims. After the court decision was executed, specialists from the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv conducted a re-examination and confirmed that the shelter meets the established requirements and is ready for use as intended.
