In Zakarpattia, a 29-year-old man died after staying at the Territorial Recruitment Center – the State Bureau of Investigation opened a criminal case
In Zakarpattia, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has launched a pre-trial investigation into the death of a 29-year-old man after his stay at one of the territorial recruitment and social support centers.
The SBI noted that the basis for opening the criminal case was information published in the media and social networks regarding the possible use of violence against the man during his stay at the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
According to preliminary data, while at the center’s premises, the man repeatedly complained about deteriorating health. He was taken to a medical facility twice.
After the first medical examination, doctors provided assistance and discharged the patient, after which he was returned to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
The next day, the man was hospitalized again in critical condition following a sudden cardiac arrest. Despite resuscitation efforts, he died several days later without regaining consciousness.
Information on this fact has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — abuse of power or official authority by a military official under martial law conditions.
The article’s sanction provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years.
For establishing the exact cause of death, forensic examinations have been appointed.
