The investigating judge of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv authorized a search at the home of businessman Oleksandr Spektor. Thus, as reported by Economic Truth, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the residence of the well-known Kyiv businessman, co-owner of the Blockbuster Mall shopping center, Oleksandr Spektor.

Media note that this is part of a criminal proceeding led by the Main Investigation Department of the SBU on charges of financing activities against the foundations of national security and collaborationism (Part 3 of Article 110-2 and Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Procedural guidance is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation version set out in the ruling dated May 29, 2026, Spektor, in prior conspiracy with a group of persons through business entities controlled by him, assisted the pro-Russian public figure Viktor Medvedchuk in evading sanctions – ensuring continued profit from business activities in Ukraine.

As stated in the ruling, the collected funds were transferred to Medvedchuk, who used them for activities aimed at undermining sovereignty and changing the borders of Ukraine, as well as for anti-Ukrainian propaganda.

The investigation believes that one of the links in this scheme is the land and property complex of the Blockbuster Mall shopping center. Its owner is listed as LLC "InvestBud Garant," 90% of which, according to case materials, belongs to the Swedish company Northwalk AB, and 10% to the investment fund "Rental," one of the ultimate beneficiaries of which the investigation names Spektor.

The ruling also mentions a number of related companies, including those under Cypriot and Swiss jurisdictions.

The investigating judge partially granted the investigator's request – allowing the search and seizure of documents related to financial and economic activities, corporate rights, lease agreements, and accounting documents for the period from February 2022 to May 2026.

The court denied the request to seize certain payment documents related to rent. The ruling is valid for one month.

Earlier, Spektor was summoned by subpoena for questioning to the Main Investigation Department of the SBU as a witness in the same proceeding.

Oleksandr Spektor himself categorically denied any involvement in activities benefiting pro-Russian forces or any assistance to sanctioned persons and stated that he "has never had joint business projects or financial relations with Viktor Medvedchuk or other persons whose activities could harm Ukraine's interests."

If sanctions are imposed, Spektor may lose all his assets, as they could be subject to arrest and confiscation.
