The Ministry of Defense launches a 'demobilization calculator': military personnel will be able to find out their discharge date
The Ministry of Defense is developing a special "calculator" that will allow each service member to approximately calculate the time of their discharge from service. This was announced by the Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov.
He noted that the partial discharge process will begin at the end of autumn for those defenders who joined the service in 2022 or earlier. At the same time, the order will be determined by two criteria – length of service and number of days in combat.
According to Fedorov, even if a service member signs a new contract (for example, for 24 months), this does not cancel the possibility of their discharge if the corresponding decree on demobilization or partial discharge is issued.
What will have priority
The president's decree on discharge, not the contract itself.
That is: if a service member signed a contract but meets the discharge criteria, they will still be discharged, says Fedorov.
Who decides whom to discharge
Not a specific commander "on site." The decision will be made at the General Staff level based on combat experience and length of service.
Separately, the Ministry of Defense promises to create a calculator where each service member can approximately see when they might be eligible for discharge.
"We will make a calculator so that every service member can see in which month they might be eligible," said the Minister of Defense.
