Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko noted that the government currently does not see sufficient progress in Kyiv's preparation for the upcoming heating season. According to her, there are delays in implementing a number of important measures that need to be promptly addressed.

“Kyiv must be fully ready for the next winter. This is the direct responsibility of the city authorities.

The state, on its part, continues to provide and will continue to provide all necessary support to the capital. Nearly 4 billion UAH have already been allocated from the state budget's reserve fund, co-financing of 50% of the required measures has been ensured, and part of the work is being carried out by the Recovery Agency. Support programs have also been introduced, including for the installation of individual and backup power sources in apartment buildings.

At the same time, we currently do not see sufficient progress in the city's preparation for the next heating season. There are delays in implementing a number of important measures that need to be promptly addressed,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to the head of government, there is no more important priority for the city authorities today than preparing the capital for winter. Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized that Kyiv has the largest budget among all Ukrainian cities, as well as all necessary capabilities, including full state support, to ensure proper readiness for the heating season.

As a result, following a meeting with the mayor, a specific list of measures and deadlines for their implementation was determined.

“Given the critical importance of proper preparation of the capital for winter, the Government will soon initiate bringing this issue to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for necessary decisions,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
