The Cabinet of Ministers launches an experimental project on the removal of emergency and damaged trees
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is starting the implementation of an experimental project for the removal of emergency, damaged, dry-standing trees and shrubs outside populated areas. The decision was made on June 17. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The ministry emphasized that until now, legislation defined the procedure for removing green plantations only within populated areas. At the same time, such a procedure was absent for territories outside these areas, which complicated decision-making regarding emergency and damaged plantations that may pose a danger to people, infrastructure, or economic activities.
"We are regulating an issue that has long remained outside the legal framework. The new mechanism will provide transparent rules for communities and businesses, as well as allow prompt responses in cases when emergency or damaged plantations require removal," said Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The introduction of the experimental project will ensure a unified approach to decision-making regarding the removal of emergency and damaged plantations, reduce the number of violations in this area, and eliminate legal uncertainty for communities, land users, and business entities.
Based on the results of the experimental project, practical solutions will be developed for further improvement of legislation in the field of environmental protection concerning the removal of green plantations outside populated areas.
