In Khmelnytskyi Region, a Truck Driver Tried to Rape a 13-Year-Old Child
Law enforcement officers detained a truck driver who attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl. According to the police of Khmelnytskyi region, the incident occurred on June 17, between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM in Kamianets-Podilskyi district.
According to the investigation, under the pretext of giving her a ride, the offender invited the girl into the truck cabin. Inside, the man began forcibly undressing the victim and tried to have sexual intercourse with her.
The girl managed to break free and run into the forest. There she called her mother and told her what had happened. The woman, in turn, reported the incident to the police.
Law enforcement launched the "Interception" operation, and colleagues from other regions received information about the vehicle. The "MAN" truck was stopped in Lviv region. The 46-year-old driver, a resident of Odessa region, was detained. He has already been taken to the Kamianets-Podilskyi district police department.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 4 of Article 152 (Attempted rape of a person under 14 years old) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article's sanction provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment.
