What documents are needed for enlistment — complete list
Candidates planning to enlist need to prepare a package of documents.
As explained by the Donetsk Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, one of the main documents is an autobiography, which must be handwritten and printed. It should include the full name, date and place of birth, information about education, previous workplaces (if any), place of registration and residence, contact phone number, as well as information about family members.
In addition, candidates must provide a reference from their previous workplace. Applicants for a vacant position also need a recommendation letter from the military unit.
The mandatory package includes copies of the Ukrainian citizen’s passport, taxpayer identification number registration card, birth certificate, education documents, as well as a military registration document — military ID or conscription certificate.
If available, copies of marriage or divorce certificates, as well as birth certificates of children, should be added.
It is also necessary to obtain through the "Diia" app an extract of no criminal record and an extract of registered place of residence, provide a certificate of employment or a copy of the employment record book, two photographs sized 9×12 cm, and a standard block of eight photographs sized 3×4 cm.
The list of documents is completed by a certificate from the military medical commission (MMC), which confirms the candidate’s fitness to serve in the relevant position.
As previously reported by the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper", the previous period of military service affects the length of deferment a serviceman can receive after completing a new contract.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the longer a serviceman served before signing a new contract, the longer the deferment can be. Its duration also depends on the type of contract and the time spent performing combat missions.
