Submitting gas meter readings for July must be done differently — chatbots no longer work
Household natural gas consumers need to submit their meter readings for July between August 1 and 5. At the same time, the usual GASUA chatbots on Viber and Telegram are no longer used — a new mobile application called "Kub" has been introduced for this purpose.
As explained by "Naftogaz", if the readings are not submitted by August 5, the gas distribution network operator may calculate consumption based on average readings from previous periods. This may affect the amount on the bill.
Readings must be submitted even by those consumers who temporarily did not use gas. In such cases, the previous meter readings should be resubmitted.
The new "Kub" app allows data submission in two ways: manually or by automatic digit recognition from a photo of the meter. To do this, it is enough to log into the app, open the readings submission section, take a photo of the meter or manually enter the black digits before the comma, and confirm the submission.
In addition to submitting readings, the app offers the option to pay gas bills without a commission. To do this, update "Kub" to the latest version and select the "My Bank" payment method, which works via direct transfers between bank accounts.
For those who do not use smartphones, alternative ways to submit readings remain available. This can be done through a personal account on the gas.ua website, on the portal of their gas distribution network operator, as well as by hotline phone or via SMS.
"Naftogaz" emphasizes that timely submission of readings — from the 1st to the 5th of each month — allows payment only for the actual volume of natural gas consumed.
As previously reported by the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper", Ukraine is implementing a new state support program in the field of energy efficiency. Within the initiative, 40,000 smart modules of Ukrainian production were purchased, which will be installed on regular gas meters and will allow automatic transmission of gas consumption data through wireless technologies and integration with digital accounting systems.
