Woman died during dinner at a restaurant: umbrella torn off by wind cut her neck
A tragic event occurred in the state of South Carolina: a woman died after a restaurant umbrella, caught by a strong gust of wind, struck her neck.
According to NBC News, the incident happened in the evening on the open terrace of a restaurant in the city of Summerton. The deceased, later identified as Dana Weinger, was having dinner with her husband on the outdoor patio of the establishment.
Preliminary data indicate that a strong gust of wind tore the street umbrella from its place and lifted it into the air. As a result of the impact, the woman suffered severe neck injuries.
Rescuers and medical personnel arrived at the scene, but they were unable to save the victim — she died on the spot.
