In Romania, thousands of employees of the tax service and district administrations of state finances have declared a strike due to legislative changes in the field of remuneration. This was reported by Digi24.

On Thursday morning, tax authority employees across the country stopped working. They express disagreement with the law on the unified wage system, which, according to the protesters, will lead to a reduction of their bonuses by about 4,000 lei (approximately 760 euros).

Due to the strike, the offices of district administrations of state finances in various regions were closed. Posters with slogans "Revolt for Dignity!" and "A Day Without Finance" were placed on the buildings.

The protest actions also spread to territorial pension funds and some judicial institutions.

Financial sector employees demand the introduction of a new, revised wage scale. It is reported that union representatives have gone to the Ministry of Labor to negotiate changes to the law.
