Official negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union start on June 15: all EU countries supported the decision
The European Union will officially start negotiations on June 15 regarding the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU. This was announced by President Roberta Metsola.
According to her, EU member states gave the "green light" to begin negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union.
She noted that the opening of the first negotiation chapters, which concern democracy, justice, and the rule of law, emphasizes the efforts of both countries in carrying out reforms and their commitment to European values.
The President of the European Parliament also stressed that Ukraine and Moldova continue their path towards EU membership despite Russian aggression, threats, and attempts at intimidation.
"Enlargement is our most powerful geopolitical tool, and Ukraine and Moldova belong to Europe," said Roberta Metsola.
Recall that earlier it was reported that the European Union plans to officially open the negotiation process on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova on June 15.
