US President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf signed an agreement between the US and Iran. This was announced by a senior American official, writes Reuters agency.

According to him, the details of the memorandum will be published within the next 24–48 hours, and technical discussions will begin later this week.

He emphasized that the agreement provides for the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the US blockade on Iran.

The official signing ceremony will also take place on Friday, the official said. Earlier, both sides said the agreement would be signed in Switzerland on Friday.

"You will see a significant increase in traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, in fact, it is already starting, and over time it will gradually intensify," said the American official on condition of anonymity.

"We probably won't return to normal within two weeks, but we will see a significant increase in traffic through the strait."

Additionally, Trump, while speaking to the media in France, where he is meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of the G7 summit, also confirmed that the agreement with Iran has already been signed.
