In Cambridgeshire County (UK), police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after, according to the investigation, he threw a 3-year-old boy into a crocodile enclosure at a zoo. This was reported by The Independent.

According to a local resident who wished to remain anonymous, the wife of the zoo owner, Tracy Johnson, was able to quickly reach the enclosure and save the child.

British media report that the boy was diagnosed with a broken arm and pelvis.

The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Cambridgeshire police's major crime unit. Authorities stated that the man and the child were not acquainted.

After the incident, the boy was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital. His condition is described as critical but stable.

Specially trained staff at the medical facility are providing support to the victim's family.

The zoo where the incident occurred houses over a hundred animals and positions itself as a family entertainment venue. Among the services mentioned on the website is a 30-minute "crocodile feeding procedure."

Local residents say they do not understand how the child could have ended up in the crocodile enclosure, as safety measures are in place there.
