The law provides that pensioners residing in territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation or who left to Ukrainian-controlled territory during the temporary occupation receive a pension on the condition that they do not receive pension payments from the pension authorities of the Russian Federation. This was reminded by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

A person reports this in the application for appointment, recalculation, renewal, or continuation of the pension (paragraph 144 of the Final Provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On Compulsory State Pension Insurance").

"If the pensioner has submitted such a notification, then it is not necessary to notify again about not receiving payments from the Russian Federation. Informing the Pension Fund of Ukraine is required only if there is a change in circumstances affecting the pension payment, in particular if the pensioner receives payments from the pension authorities of the Russian Federation," the Pension Fund added.
