The Orthodox Church honors the memory of Saint Tikhon of Amathus, bishop. He lived at the end of the 4th and beginning of the 5th century and was renowned for his deep faith, mercy, and fight against paganism. According to tradition, from a young age he helped those in need, and after being chosen as bishop, he cared for the spiritual life of his flock and converted people to Christianity. He is attributed with the gift of performing miracles and healing.
