In Mykolaiv region, a car flew off a bridge into the water – five children and an adult were injured
In Mykolaiv Region, a car, reportedly driven by a 19-year-old young man, fell off a bridge into the water. As a result of the accident, six passengers were injured – five children and one adult. This was reported by Mykolaiv Region police.
The incident occurred on May 31 around 12:50 PM in the village of Voronivka, Voznesensk district. According to law enforcement, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, driven by the 19-year-old driver, lost control, went off the bridge, and fell into the water.
Inside the vehicle were five children aged 9, 11, 12, and 15 years old, a 40-year-old man, and the driver. All of them sustained injuries of varying severity and were taken to a medical facility for examination.
Currently, the police are establishing all the circumstances and causes of the traffic accident.
Investigators have preliminarily classified the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles. The article's sanction provides for punishment of up to three years of restriction of liberty.
The police noted that during the further investigation, additional legal qualifications of the incident are possible.
