The government allocated 10.8 billion hryvnias for weapons and defense – where the funds will be directed
The government of Ukraine has directed an additional 10.8 billion UAH for the purchase and production of weapons. The funds were accumulated in a special fund of the state budget and allocated for defense needs. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
Of the total amount, 9 billion UAH is allocated for the purchase of new weapons, as well as for the repair and modernization of military equipment. Nearly 2 billion UAH will be directed to the development of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex – in particular, for scaling up production and the rapid implementation of technologies that come directly from combat conditions.
It is noted that these funds were accumulated from personal income tax, as well as licensing fees from the gambling business and lotteries.
The government emphasizes that all internal financial resources are directed to support the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
It is also highlighted that Ukrainian military personnel and weapons manufacturers are jointly implementing technological changes in the defense sector, which are already being recognized by both allies and adversaries.
