The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit demanding that the owners of the building on Saksahanskoho Street comply with cultural heritage protection laws and ensure proper maintenance of the property.

According to the prosecutor's office, the case concerns a "Residential House" which was added in 2011 to the List of Newly Discovered Cultural Heritage Sites of the city of Kyiv. The building is a rare example of mid-19th century capital architecture and is designed in the historicism style with elements of neo-Renaissance.

According to the agency, commercial entities owning parts of the building are not fulfilling their maintenance obligations, which hinders the preservation of this cultural heritage site.

Therefore, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office is demanding in court that the owners of this newly discovered cultural heritage site comply with cultural heritage protection legislation – to conclude a protection agreement for the building and bring it to proper condition.

Proceedings have already been initiated on the prosecutor's lawsuits.
