Open windows, bodies of water, and explosives: police warned about the main dangers for children in summer
The patrol police urged parents to pay special attention to children's safety during summer holidays. Law enforcement reminded that during the vacation period, schoolchildren spend more time outside without constant adult supervision, so it is important to discuss the basic rules of safe behavior with them in advance.
Special attention is recommended to be paid to safety at home. In particular, windows in rooms where children are present should not be left open, even if adults leave for just a few minutes.
Law enforcement also advises teaching children to always inform their parents about their plans, whereabouts, and time of return home. Before walks, it is necessary to remind them of traffic rules and demonstrate compliance by example. To increase safety during dark hours or poor visibility conditions, children are recommended to use reflective elements on their clothing.
Additionally, parents are advised to have preventive talks with children about safe recreation near bodies of water. The police remind that swimming without adult supervision can pose a serious danger to life and health.
It is equally important to explain to children the procedure to follow if suspicious or explosive objects are found. In such cases, they must not touch or try to move the items — it is necessary to immediately inform adults or call the appropriate services.
Law enforcement also recommends discussing in advance with children the actions to take during an air raid alarm. A child should know where the nearest shelter is and how to act in case of danger while on a walk.
The patrol police emphasize that following simple safety rules will help avoid dangerous situations and make children's summer vacation comfortable and safe.
