A record 15 thousand amendments were submitted to the draft of the new Civil Code
As reported by the "Judicial and Legal Newspaper", the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis with revisions of the provisions in accordance with part 1 of article 116 and taking into account the proposals set out in the conclusion of the main committee the bill No. 15150, which provides for a large-scale update and systematic review of civil law in Ukraine. The decision was supported by 254 people's deputies.
The document proposes a systematic review of private law in nine books, which will cover personal, property, family, inheritance, and international private relations.
As of June 2, more than 15 thousand amendments and proposals have been submitted by people's deputies to the draft of the new Civil Code. This number of changes has become a record for bills considered by the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy in the last two convocations of the Verkhovna Rada.
It is noted that the maximum number of amendments to one bill was about 5 thousand. Thus, the draft of the new Civil Code has exceeded the previous record more than threefold.
