Ukraine and Hungary have agreed to expand the linguistic, educational, cultural, and political rights of about 100,000 members of the Hungarian national minority. This was reported by Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar.

According to him, Ukraine has agreed to restore the system of schools for national minorities, as well as to expand the use of the Hungarian language in settlements where Hungarians make up more than 10% of the population.

Magyar noted that negotiations between the countries lasted three weeks. He also stated that if Ukraine makes the appropriate changes, the Hungarian government will agree to open the first stage of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.
