In Khmelnytskyi, a 16-year-old is suspected of robbing a soldier who returned from captivity
In Khmelnytskyi, law enforcement officers detained a 16-year-old local resident suspected of robbing a 21-year-old serviceman who recently returned from Russian captivity and was undergoing rehabilitation. This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi Regional Police.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred near Franko Park. The suspect approached the victim and snatched a bag containing about 50,000 hryvnias, then fled in an unknown direction.
Law enforcement officers noted that the offender tried to hide. Operatives from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police and the criminal police of the Khmelnytskyi district police department reviewed footage from dozens of surveillance cameras, identified his identity, movement route, and location.
The detainee turned out to be a 16-year-old local resident. According to the police, the stolen money was spent on his own needs. After the crime, he hid for some time in an uninhabited building, where he was detained.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided.
