Combatants, persons with disabilities due to the war, as well as family members of deceased Defenders of Ukraine are exempt from paying land tax on land plots owned by them. This was reported by the Zhytomyr Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support.

At the same time, the benefit applies only within the established area limits.

Maximum sizes of land plots eligible for the benefit:

  • for personal farming – up to 2 hectares
  • for construction and maintenance of a residential house (homestead plot):
  • in villages – up to 0.25 hectares
  • in settlements – up to 0.15 hectares
  • in cities – up to 0.10 hectares
  • for dacha construction – up to 0.10 hectares
  • for individual garages – up to 0.01 hectares
  • for gardening – up to 0.12 hectares

How to apply for the benefit:

  • submit an application in any form to the tax authority at the location of the land plot;
  • attach copies of documents confirming:
  • status (combatant, disability due to war, etc.);
  • ownership rights to the land plot.

When the benefit takes effect:

From the first month after the right to it arises.

When it ends:

From the month following the loss of the right to the benefit. After that, the obligation to pay land tax is reinstated.
