The government has made changes to the procedure for providing housing assistance to internally displaced persons. One of the main innovations concerns families with children: from now on, when assigning payments for displaced children, the parents' income will not be taken into account. This was reported by the Department of Subsidies, Benefits, and State Social Assistance of the Pension Fund in the Vinnytsia region.

At the same time, the right to receive assistance will still be determined taking into account the family's property status. When reviewing applications, the presence of housing outside the territories of hostilities or temporary occupation, deposits and significant funds in bank accounts, as well as the purchase of real estate, land plots, vehicles, or other expensive property will be considered.

The payment assignment deadlines have also changed. If the application was submitted before June 1, 2026, assistance will be assigned from February 1, 2026. For citizens who apply after this date, payments will be accrued from the month the application is submitted.

The Pension Fund specifically emphasized the need for families who previously lost the right to assistance due to exceeding the established income level to reapply.

Experts stress that such families need to submit a new application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine for reconsideration of the right to assistance. Automatic renewal of payments in such cases is not provided.

An application for assistance can be submitted in person at the Pension Fund service center, through the Administrative Services Center or local government body, as well as by postal mail.
