The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has chosen a preventive measure for Pavlo Pleshyvshev, the driver suspected in the fatal accident in Kyiv — detention for 60 days without the right to bail. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

Recall, the accident occurred on June 5, 2026, around 5:00 PM on Chokolivskyi Boulevard in Kyiv. As a result of the accident, four pedestrians died — two district police officers, a woman, and a 12-year-old boy. Three more people were injured.

The driver was detained and charged under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules that caused the death of several people.

Under the incriminated article, the suspect faces up to 10 years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 3 years.

As is known, a pre-trial investigation has been launched in Kyiv regarding the fatal accident on Chokolivskyi Boulevard, in which four people died, including a 12-year-old boy. According to law enforcement, the 49-year-old Mercedes-Benz driver was moving at a high speed, lost control, and drove into an underground passage where people were present.
