In Ivano-Frankivsk, a 65-year-old man who raped underage boys for years was detained
In Ivano-Frankivsk region, a 65-year-old resident of the regional center was detained on suspicion of sexual crimes against underage children.
The prosecutor's office established that since 2022, the offender regularly visited a suburban village where he owned a summer house.
There, he managed to establish friendly relations with several local families raising minors. Taking advantage of the trust formed, the suspect lured the children to his home under false pretenses, where he committed violent acts against them.
Two victimized boys are known. At the time of the crimes, they were 8 and 11 years old.
The suspect was exposed thanks to a photograph taken by one of the boys while at his house. Adults saw the photo and reported the information to law enforcement.
At the prosecutor's request, the court chose preventive detention for the suspect without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment.
