Ministry of Defense on discharge from service: length of service in the army will not be counted equally
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mstyslav Banik reported that the length of service in the army from 2022 and before 2022 will not be counted equally, but the details and the formation of the discharge queue will become clear closer to the end of the year. He said this during a briefing.
“The time served in the army will not be counted linearly. The length of service in the army from 2022 onwards and before 2022 will not be counted equally. How it will be counted will be clear closer to the end of the year when we specifically approach this task,” Banik said.
He emphasized that there is currently a vision regarding the need to start doing this, but the details will be clear by the end of the year.
“But the exact details, how many people, by what criteria, monthly or not monthly, what the formula for calculating this rating will be, who becomes the first in the discharge queue, will be clear closer to the end of the year,” Banik added.
Recall that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced details of the new contract military service system, which will provide a guaranteed deferment after the contract ends. Its duration will depend on the type of contract, previous length of service, and the soldier's participation in combat operations.
The Ministry of Defense also revealed details of the new monetary provision system for servicemen and the introduction of three types of contracts.
Recall, Deputy Minister of Defense Mstyslav Banik stated that officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not planned to be discharged under the general demobilization model, as the officer corps is one of the key personnel resources of the army.
