President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that additional pressure is needed on the Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin if he continues to refuse negotiations to end the war.

“We proposed to Putin to meet anywhere where real decisions could be made to end the war. He does not want this.

We discussed with the USA and France the possibility of a meeting with Russia on the sidelines of the G7 involving all democratic countries. Putin does not want this.

Yesterday we discussed with President Trump that such a meeting could be organized in the USA in a format in which it would be much harder for Putin to refuse at least President Trump.

We will see what comes of this. If Russia refuses this chance as well, additional pressure will be needed,” said the Head of State in an address to the Intergovernmental Conference of the European Union.
