State Statistics Service expands the list of construction indicators according to EU standards
The State Statistics Service of Ukraine announced that it is starting to publish seasonally adjusted data on the total area of residential buildings and non-residential structures at the start of construction (m²) and the number of apartments in residential buildings at the start of construction (units).
Seasonally adjusted data allow for analyzing construction dynamics without the influence of seasonal fluctuations. This enhances users' analytical capabilities and ensures better comparability of indicators over time.
“The introduction of seasonal adjustment in this area is another step in harmonizing Ukraine's state statistics with European standards and practices,” the State Statistics Service stated.
The publication of seasonally adjusted and calendar-adjusted indicators, starting from data for Q1 2018, expands the existing list of economic indicators related to the start of construction.
Currently, the data are published as a result of experimental calculations performed using the JDemetra+ program (version 2.2.3). The implementation of seasonal adjustment into regular statistical practice is planned for 2027.
