Why There May Be Delays in Passport Production – The Main Reason Named by the State Migration Service
The State Migration Service explained why citizens sometimes face delays when receiving ready passport documents.
Passport production for the population is carried out by the "Ukraine" Printing Plant in accordance with the requirements of legislation and contracts concluded with the State Migration Service of Ukraine.
The agency noted that under martial law, Kyiv regularly experiences massive attacks from Russia using drones and ballistic missiles. As a result, there are threats to enterprise workers, as well as damage to residential buildings, industrial facilities, critical and energy infrastructure.
Because of this, the "Ukraine" Printing Plant is forced to follow enhanced security measures and suspend production processes during air raid alerts to preserve the life and health of employees.
The State Migration Service explained that stopping high-tech equipment, switching it to a safe mode, and subsequently restoring work after the alert ends require additional time and technological operations. This can affect the timeframes for producing passport documents.
The service emphasized that during martial law, delays in passport production are possible; however, the employees of the "Ukraine" Printing Plant continue to work under difficult conditions and make efforts to ensure continuous production and the fastest possible issuance of documents to Ukrainian citizens.
