Registration of a Legal Entity in Short Terms: What You Need to Know
The Department of State Registration of the Executive Committee of the Kremenchuk City Council clarified the issue of registering a legal entity in shortened terms.
It is noted that in practice, there arises a need when founders (participants) need to register a legal entity as quickly as possible.
For example: participation in a tender or public procurement where it is necessary to urgently submit documents from the company; concluding an important contract with a partner or investor; opening a bank account to receive payment from a client; launching a new business project within limited timeframes; the need to quickly formalize employees or rent premises on behalf of the legal entity; fulfilling the requirements of a grant program where the applicant must be a registered company, etc.
In such cases, rapid registration of a legal entity allows starting business activities without unnecessary delays and taking advantage of existing business opportunities.
However, before registration, it is important to carefully prepare the documents to avoid refusal or the need for further amendments.
According to current legislation, documents submitted for state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs can be reviewed either in the general procedure—within 24 hours after receipt—or in shortened terms—within 6 hours or 2 hours after receipt of documents, excluding weekends and holidays.
State registration in shortened terms is carried out exclusively at the applicant's request, provided they additionally pay the corresponding fee on top of the administrative fee.
Advantages of shortened or accelerated state registration:
- It is carried out within 2 or 6 hours, i.e., on the day of application;
- Registered by a state registrar or notary;
- The cost is higher than standard registration (as of 01.01.2026, the cost for registration in shortened terms is: for 2 hours – 5,000 UAH, for 6 hours – 2,000 UAH);
- Documents are submitted in accordance with the requirements established by the Law of Ukraine "On State Registration of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Formations" and the Procedure for State Registration of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Formations that do not have the status of a legal entity.
The fee for conducting state registration in shortened terms is refunded to the applicant only in case of failure to provide state registration services within the terms due to the fault of the state registration entity.
Action algorithm:
- Prepare the necessary documents.
- Contact a state registrar or notary.
- Pay the administrative fee for state registration and the administrative fee for the shortened procedure.
- Receive the result – an extract from the Unified State Register.
